BEHIND THE SCENES.

The idea of an anti-war film began around the start of November 2022, it had been around eight months since the begining of the War in Ukraine, which i was opposed of from the start, i support Ukraine sure but the fact that Russia had continue with nuclear threats, sent me a message, the war could turn dangerous if either side were to fuck up. With that in mind i started writing Borders, a film in which two sides fight to the death, in which nobody wins at the end, because of the use of the Atomic Bomb, I decided head on to cut dialogue out the film, in order for their to be a universal message, plus, i also made sure to try and not make the filn pro-NATO or pro-Russian, so the blue and orange colors came to be, I also made sure not to refrence any NATO or Russian elements, because that way, the film can be shown across the globe. Another thing i also wanted to do was to include Galop Infernal by Offenbach, the song is beautiful and it was a perfect choices, especially during the end where the climax of the song does reach to me, the entire film was mainly animated within Flash CS4, which explains the tweening, however it still was a good tool, and i really enjoyed making it. Plans to share it internationally right now will be kept secret, but overall, i loved making it, and i hope the message about the dangers of war within the modern era really do get heard of, especially within an era of an unsure political future. - Matthew Astbury, March 2023.
